Begun in 1933, the work on the famous Golden Gate Bridge was completed four years later, in 1937. This bridge connects the city of San Francisco and the north of the bay. This steel suspension bridge hides some anecdotes! Its orange color is nothing more than a protective anti-corrosion layer. San Francisco has a very capricious climate and the weather could have caused enormous damage to the bridge. Although not originally intended, this reddish-orange color creates a beautiful contrast with the blue ocean waters. Designated as one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World, the bridge has been awarded for its technical prowess. At 1230 meters long, it is considered the longest suspension bridge in the world and 2 of its pillars are 230 meters high. During your visit to San Francisco, it is imperative to come and admire it!
